Storage and where to place important daily sailing items such as ropes and mooring spikes is always a problem on any barge or boat. Here we have placed 3 storage bins below the front of the wheelhouse, angled to give a gentle slope up from the superstructure coach roof to the wheelhouse windscreen. They counter the forward angle of the windscreen and add a little extra design to this area. In the foreground is the main skylight (Cuckoo box) opening, measuring 1280x1050mm. This opening will enable all the large furniture items etc. to be internally loaded.

Dick, Theo and Richard (mechanical engineer) of Ament discuss how best to start the construction of the aluminium wheelhouse.
