Details of the interior design, decor & equipment used.

The semi-spiral stairway's treads are wood overlaying the steel construction stairway. The stairs needed to be designed in this sealed way to ensure underfoot dirt did not fall through the stairs onto the outdoor clothing hanging below it and... the electrics room also below it could be constructed in a watertight way to prevent battery vapour permeating into the living area.

European oak flooring with its mid-toned wood appearance will lift this darkish area and take all the traffic punishment it may receive, as well as looking stylish and tasteful. There will be a series of 6 fibre-optic up-lighters  mounted in the floor and illuminating this area from the floor. They should blend well with the down-lighters from the same light source which will be discreetly mounted in the underside of the stainless steel hand rail, illuminating every second tread.

To help with the period look & feel of JENAL we have purchased period light switches for the main rooms.  These old Victorian switches were made of 'stern-stuff' consequently, they are ideal for the rough and tumble of the barge.
